D'APOLITO FARM

The history of the company starts in the 80s, thanks to the enthusiasm of Pietro D'Apolito, our Grandpa Pietro. After having inherited the hectares of land in Torre Santa Susanna, in the heart of Salento, Pietro decided to get into agriculture - olive growing and viticulture - his reason for living and founding the D'Apolito Farm.

Slowly, thanks to the precious support of his wife Marianna, Pietro expanded his properties, buying new land and planting new vines from native vines in the area. The grapes were exclusively produced and sold to other local wineries.

"LA PRUINA" FOUNDATION

For years the farm exclusively produced only grapes intended for sale. In 2012, however, the new generation felt the urgent desire to give an identity to its products and embarked on the path to bottled wines. This is how the brand "La Pruina" was born.

GROW AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Over the years, La Pruina has been enthusiastically involved in many projects, expanding its range of products and extending its sales from local to foreign markets. We are currenty represented in 20 Countries around the world. Today the winery is the recipient of important awards given by renowned international wine critiques and guides.

At nights, the air with its refreshing touch, relieves the grapes from the fatigue caused by the great daytime heat, producing a temperature differential that encourages an aromatic richness."

Our brand LA PRUINA is a concept that sums up the production philosophy of ​​the winery. "Pruina" is the layer of wax that is produced by the superficial cells of the epidermis of fruits. It has a protective function from ultraviolet rays and also prevents excessive dehydration. This is where the acronym comes from, which today is the synthesis of a well-defined corporate philosophy.
